Committee members needed

17/2/2017
We all know that the toy library is a valuable resource for us and our community and the library cannot function effectively without the help of our volunteer committee members. And right now, we need more help! If you value the library too and want to see it continue, please consider joining the committee. Speak to any committee member or email morningtontoylib@yahoo.co.nz for more information. Also feel free to come along to any committee meeting and see what it's all about. Our next meeting is 20 March at 7:30pm in the meeting room that adjoins the library. Bring a friend! We hope to see you there!

Dunedin Casino Grant received!

15/2/2017
The Mornington Toy and Games Library is the proud recipient of a $500 grant from the Dunedin Casino Charitable Trust. This grant will be used to buy some new infant toys for the library. If you have any suggestions of infant toys you would like to see, get in touch with a committee member or email us at morningtontoylib@yahoo.co.nz . Our sincere thanks to the Dunedin Casino Charitable Trust for their support.

Butter Month Winner

18/10/2016
Congratulations to Tim Lucas, winner of the prize draw for butter month! Tim, be sure to stop by Charlie's desk the next time you're in to collect your prize. And a huge thank you to all of you who donated butter this month. As the most expensive ingredient in our truffle recipe - every block helps our fundraising efforts! If you haven't added your name to the truffle-rolling roster, stop by Charlie's desk or send an email to the library to reserve your spot! We ask that you sign up by 29 October so we can create a plan of attack for getting all the truffles rolled by the end of the day on Saturday 12 November.

Happy Easter!

23/3/2016
The committee would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter for 2016.   Members: If you haven't already, remember to print off your copy of the Easter Colouring Competition (found in the latest members newsletter) and get those kiddies busy! If you have any entries waiting at home and can't make it to the library on Thursday you can drop them into the mailbox at 29 Peel St, Mornington any time up to Tuesday 30th March. We have five prizes (for ages 0-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 and 5 plus) so everyone is in for a chance.    Just a reminder also that the library will be closed on Saturday 25th March for the Easter break, but will be back open again, in full force on Thursday 31st.  Happy Easter!

Happy new year!

31/1/2016
The Toy library reopens this Saturday, 6th February 10 am till 11.30am. Yes, we are open on Waitangi day. For those of you with summer hires, it is time to gather up all the pieces, dust or wipe off the toys if necessary, and return your hires. As we open on a public holiday some of you may be away.  However, it would be appreciated if toys are returned the following Thursday (10am till 11am), or the following Saturday if you can't make it on Waitangi day. Shortly this year, the toy library will be implementing a new computer based system. Initially there maybe some teething problems so we would be grateful for your patience while we get the new system up and running.  However, the new system should make the toy hire process much faster. No one likes queues, right! Just a reminder that we are still looking for new committee members at the Mornington Toy and Games Library. If you think you would like to join, or are curious and have questions, just ask our helpful toy librarian or any committee member. We hope you all had a great summer holiday and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Summer break

7/12/2015
The Toy Library is now closed for Summer Holidays.  We re-open in 2016 on Saturday 6 February.    Have a great break!

December Newsletter

7/12/2015
Our final newsletter for the year is out now.  It has been a busy year for the Toy Library Committee but we have lots of new toys for our hard work which is great. Thanks to the Committee for their continued hard work. Thanks to everyone for their support over the year, and for making our new Librarian, Charlie, feel welcome. A massive thank you to Bex for all her hard work as Librarian over the past few years, including training up Charlie. We wish her and her family well for the future.
